Christy Barton's art expresses a passion for the beauty of natural history, embodying the wonder of nature, science and artistic design. Her special interest is endangered species.
She was born in Northern Colorado, with an artistic family who nurtured her love for nature. Her grandfather was a taxidermist, her grandmother hand-painted china with botanical themes. Her father is a photographer and turns wood on the lathe, her mother is an artist who has exhibited serigraphy of the western states for 23 years.
Christy's professional memberships include the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators, the American Society of Botanical Artists,
Her studio is located in Tenino, Washington where she enjoys the open skies and solitude of the prairie, known for its wildflowers, birds, butterflies and wildlife, which inspire her creativity and involvement in conservation.
